Most people don’t realize that not only do you have to be current in all the social media and be active on all your different accounts, but you have to be exciting, witty, and funny, all at once. For some people, this extremely popular prone gene comes naturally, as easy as it did in high school. For other people, it can be hard to ooze charisma through typing on the computer or texting on your phone.
The problem is, if you are boring, no one is listening to what you have to say, or sticking around to watch you continue to say it. Sounds easy enough right? Well, that’s where you’re wrong. Every day we are boring people. They are overlooking our tweets, ignoring our status updates, and really could care less about our blog posts. What are somethings you are doing to bore your readers?
Talking About The Same Topic Over And Over Again
Check out the newspapers or magazines. They switch up people! Sure, you may stay specific with the niche you are most comfortable, but talking all day long about the iPad isn’t going to get that many people interested in your Facebook Page. There are plenty of different features you’ll want to talk about.
Spam Tweets And Messages
Sometimes we spam people without intentionally meaning to. It just happens. That does not excuse your need to know not to do it, though. If your Twitter feed is full of updates about read this entry over and over again, no one is going to want you to stick around on their Twitter homepage or application.
One can only take so much complaining, rumbling, and cynical comments. If you’re main purpose with social media is to voice about how much you hate this company, products, or your mother in law, be ready for the masses to unsubscribe from your social media accounts. While the occasional rant is fun and relatable, we all have our own problems and do not want to consistently hear about every single one of yours.
Vanilla Flavored? Add Some Toppings!
When it comes to Social Media, using adjectives, short words, and smiley faces go a long way. Making sure that you can truly describe what is going on by mixing up your words, checking syllables, and using fun expressions is a great way to get other people’s attention.
